The recent class with Libs Elliott was fun and informative, and over too soon. Join our new group as you work toward finishing your Bloem or Fin du Monde quilt. We will meet on the third Saturday of the month to provide each other with support, advice, inspiration, and well, just have some company as we work on a common project. Even if you did not take the class and might be Bloem or Fin du Monde curious, come on by and see what we're up to.

This is a NEW fiber arts festival for 2024. Workshops covering a wide variety of fiber arts topics will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in city facilities on Main Street., Camp Verde. There will also be a vendor marketplace and fiber art demonstration tables for each of the guilds that belong to the Federation. The event will be open to the public. Paper Piecers Just Wanna Have Fun
Join our foundation paper piecing (FPP) group, on the first Sunday of each month, as we work through an FPP block of the month, or other FPP pattern, or any project of your own choosing, from the comfort and convenience of your own sewing room. Wherever you are in your quilt piecing journey, from learner to teacher, you are welcome to join and participate, or just show up and have a look for yourself.

Are some of your fabric scraps overstaying their welcome in your stash? Does it seem like you never find that one color you need when you search your scraps?
There is a solution for you! At the May guild meeting....
Swap a Bag of Fabric Scraps!
To participate in the scrap exchange, fill a 1-gallon ziplock bag with assorted fabric scraps. The colors and prints you provide in your bag can be anything that you think a quilter would enjoy and use. Scraps should be quilting cotton quality, no smaller than 2″ x 4″ and no larger than a fat quarter. Be sure to stuff the bag full, in a neat fashion, and ziplock sealed.
All bags will be displayed on a table at the May 7th ABQMQG meeting at The Quilt Works store. Each participant will choose a bag in the order that your name appears on the sign in sheet. If you are first to sign in, you pick among all the bags that are contributed. The next person on the list picks from what is left, and so on.
If you attend the meeting by zoom and want to participate, please mail your gallon bag to Judie Pokakaa at 9104 Candelaria Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112 before May 1st to make sure they arrive in time to be included in the exchange. After the May 7th meeting, the scrap bag you pick will be mailed back to you.

Day 1: Liz Whitehead will teach. (Look for a poll soon to choose the pattern) Day 2: Finish quilt top from day one, UFOs, and Quilt demonstrations. Cost: $100 for members; $150 non-members.
