Fractured Disappearing 9-Patch Quilt with Carole Lyles Shaw

During the workshop, we will use improvisational cutting and piecing to ‘fracture’ each of the blocks. This is an improvisational piecing project that will give you lots of opportunity to play and have fun!! I call this improvisational process “fracturing” the block because I use a series of straight cuts to slice apart a pieced block and then sew it back together. Eventually the original nine patch design disappears and an improvisational patch block is what's left.

Abstract Expressions with Shruti Dandekar
Saturday and Sunday April 24, and 25, 2021:(3pm-6pm)

Architect turned fabulous quilter, Shruti Dandekar, will take us through her process for creating amazing abstract portraits. Includes lessons on: Basics of Expressionism and Fauvism, sketching minimalist faces, and translating the painting method to fabric to create colorful abstract portraits. Shruti hails from Sangli, India (12 hours ahead of us) and will be getting up really early (starting at 3am her time) to offer us this great workshop. We will meet over two shorter sessions, starting late afternoon, on April 24 and 25, 2020
