We are incredibly excited to announce that quilter extraordinaire Irene Roderick will be teaching a three-day in-person workshop in Albuquerque at The Quilt Works on August 11, 12, and 13, 2022. (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). Over these three days, Irene will teach her intuitive and spontaneous process and techniques and guide to express your own unique creative voice.

Irene will teach her “Dancing with the Wall” workshop. A fast-paced workshop introducing the method of building a quilt one piece of fabric at a time. You will receive “tools” to use as building blocks, lots of individual attention, tips for piecing, composition and color. You will let your self-conscience and creativity drive your process to a unique expression of your aesthetic and process. At the end of the workshop you will have most of a small quilt finished and an amazing sense of accomplishment!
The techniques used to make the components of your quilt range from simple strip piecing to more advanced curves, as does the engineering involved in putting the designs together. But the workshop is still suitable for quilters of all levels of experience, since you can choose your own comfort level both in the components you make and the final design.
If you have never taken a workshop with Irene before now, this will be an unforgettable experience. If you have danced with the wall before, you are welcome to repeat the experience or work with Irene to choreograph a piece using your own techniques and process (Hence the “Variations” in the workshop offering)

The workshop will run from 9am-4pm with an hour lunch break. Price is $250 for the three days for non-members. Member price is $210.
