Uta Lenk held the post of SAQA Regional Representative for Europe/Middle East for several years and is now the International Representative for the national German Patchwork Guild (Patchwork Gilde Deutschland). Her quilting career began when she was an exchange student in North Carolina and she has exhibited her quilts in several countries. Her teaching as well has taken her to international festivals and guild groups. She has an academic background with a PhD in English Linguistics and has meanwhile retained as a nurse, currently working in dementia care in the north of Germany. She has a few years of working life left but is eagerly waiting for retirement to spend more time quilting and making art.
